Changing markets, strong competition, cost pressures, and market-related legislation affect labor and management equally. LiUNA has partnered with its signatory contractors to create an entire organization dedicated to uniting labor and management as partners in the pursuit of common goals. We work to expand market share and represent labor and management’s joint legislative and regulatory interests at the state and local level.
The Ohio Valley and Southern States Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust (OVSS LECET) works within a 9 state region located in the central and southern United States to bring the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) and its signatory contractors together to tackle issues of mutual interest. Laborers and their employers work as a team, to secure projects and jobs, increase union-sector market share, promote their services, develop a workforce, and advance shared market-related interests.
OVSS LECET‘s most important mission is assisting Laborers’ affiliated Local Unions and their partnering contractors to win projects and jobs. OVSS LECET alerts its Laborers’ affiliates and contractors of upcoming projects, by helping prepare bids, assemble a workforce, and win the work. While Laborers are working hard on current projects, LECET is hard at work identifying future project and job opportunities.
